The Higher Certificate: Early Childhood Development is designed to provide access to further education formany experienced and skilled Early Childhood Development (ECD) practitioners and trainers who do not haverecognised qualifications. The elective unit standards encompass Literacy, Numeracy and Life Skills learningprogrammes for the Reception Year and develops ECD practitioners who specialise in aspects of ECD practice.
Practitioners who have successfully completed this qualification are able to use their knowledge of child growth and development in the following contexts: home-based and ECD centres, family and community motivators, fieldworkers, facilitators, trainers and managers to provide appropriate education, training and development services in the ECD sub-field.
Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a Higher Certificate: Early Childhood Development.
To achieve the exit level outcomes of this qualification, learners need the following knowledge and skills equivalent to NQF Level 4:
