During your studies, you will learn some theories in kinematics, angular motion, dynamics, modulus and other Engineering Science components. In addition, you will learn some fundamentals of Mechanical Draughting, gears, manufacturing and machining processes, and other mechanical draughting concepts. You will also learn workshop layouts, metal cutting machines, hydraulic systems and other learning components in Mechanotechnics. In addition, you will be well grounded in mathematical problem-solving skills in the relevant field of study.
Successful learners will gain the technical, theoretical, and practical knowledge and skills required in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Please enquire at the nearest Damelin Correspondence College branch for the prospectus containing information about further studies.
Upon successful completion of your required exams for each level, you will be awarded your National Certificate N4 Engineering Studies by the Department of Higher Education and Training. In order to qualify for a National Diploma, you have to work 18 months in the field after achieving your N6 certificate.
